The City of Central is a wonderful place! Dorothy, in the Wizard of Oz, clicked her heels together, repeated the phrase, “There is no place like home”, and woke up at her home in Kansas surrounded by her family and friends. That’s how you feel as you become apart of the Central community, you find yourself surrounded by family and friends and can say about Central, “There’s no place like home!” The City of Central Chamber of Commerce strongly epitomizes the principles of family and friends. In 2010, I had the privilege of serving my first full year as the President and CEO of the Central Chamber and what a fantastic year it has been! Some people have asked me if it was a learning curve and I tell them it was more like a rocket ship ride! What made the ride possible and enjoyable? Being surrounded by the members of the Central Chamber! Members are what make the Central Chamber such a strong support group and is one of the reasons why being apart of the Central Chamber is such a tremendous benefit! In 2010 we started using a logo with C4 in the center which stands for the four “C”s in the City of Central Chamber of Commerce. C4 is also the name for a powerful explosive. I encourage the businesses in our community to utilize the “Power of C4”!The Central Chamber is a community within a community that strongly supports the business efforts of our membership. Through our monthly membership meetings, business after hours, and other social and promotional activities there are plenty of opportunities to network together, gain insights, promote your business, and to build relationships with other members. Whether you have a new business or an existing one, you will find that by being a member of the City of Central Chamber of Commerce you are surrounded by a strong and powerful support group. I can assure you that it won't be long before this gourp will begin to feel more like a collection of family and friends and you will find yourself reflecting on Central saying, "There's no place like home!"
